"Nine-tenths of education is encouragement." Anatole France

Education should be interesting, don't you think? Oddly enough, this concept, introduced by Maria Montessori has been rediscovered by the Dept of Ed, probably through George Lucas. It's called Project Based Learning. Trained PBL teachers ask driving questions and set projects. Teams of students run the projects, interacting with the real world. The trial School in London, rated "Excellent" by Ofstead, is School 21, state-funded and non-selective. A bit far for us to travel. So Loretta attends the best local school. We think.

PBL is a big study. It's generally shunned by the establishment. But it is breaking through. Learn more here.
